Makeup Tip: Beautiful Eyes

By शेइला डिस्कस

Eyes have been called the windows of the soul because of how much they communicate. Eyes give your face energy and individuality. They do not have to be a certain size or shape to be considered pretty - all eyes have their own unique beauty. When makeup is applied to look natural it will bring out the eye’s true color and enhance the eye’s beauty. When you feel good about your makeup you will be more confident and will have one less thing to worry about.

A subtle application of eyeliner, shadows and mascara work together to create magic and make your eyes look their best.

Eye Shadow

Eye shadow is meant to highlight and define the eyes. Eye shadow is used to create depth to bring out the beauty of the eyes. A dark color used on the lid will make the eye appear smaller, while a lighter color will make it appear larger. That is what eye shadow is about creating illusions. These are the basic techniques for the following eye shapes:

Small eyes: Don’t use too much shadow or liner – it will make you eyes look smaller. Apply a light color on eyelid, use a darker color in the crease and use a highlighter under the brow.

Large eyes: Wear darker shadow on the lid and extend it to the crease. Use a flat color under the brow to highlight.

Deep-set eyes: Use light colors on the eyelid and under the brow. Use a medium color in the crease. Emphasize the outer corners with shadow.

Wide-set eyes: Use darker colors on the inner corners of the eye.

Hooded eyes: Apply light colors on the lid. Use darker colors from the center of the eyelid to the outer corners and blend.

Round eyes: Make round eyes longer by using color all around and extending toward the outer corners.

Asian eyes: Apply highlighter under the brow. Use light shadow on the inner half of the lid and a darker color on the outer half.

1. Light colors cause the eyes to open, dark colors will cause the eyes to recede

2. If you have very light skin avoid dark shades

3. Be careful with shimmer – they will bring attention to imperfections and wrinkles.

4. The eye area is the first to show age don’t tug on the skin.

Eyeliners:

Eyeliners are meant to define the eyes so they should do just that, not be the focal point of your makeup. Eyeliners come in various colors and forms liquid, pencil etc. Keep the eyeliner natural. Pencils are available in many colors (for the best look stick to black or brown) and can be sharpened for a fine line. For a smudged effect use a sponge tip shadow applicator or an eye shadow brush. When your pencils are too soft refrigerate them. When they are too hard soften them by holding them between your fingers.

To line the eye, start on the lower lid, just beneath the lashes. When you are finished always smudge the line with your sponge. Stay as close to the lash line as possible. On the upper lid, draw a line form the inner corner to the outer corner, thickening the line toward the outer corner. After the age of 40 keep the line in between the lashes.

Mascara and the creation of beautiful lashes:

Mascara frames your eyes and can make your face come alive. Mascara softly accentuates the eye while thickening and darkening the lashes; it is the finishing touch for eyes. There are several different types to choose from, thickening, and waterproof to smudge proof. Waterproof will need a special remover and smudge proof will wash off easily. It is not a good idea to wear waterproof mascara for extended periods of time since it has a tendency to dry the lashes.

Select a shade of mascara that complements your coloring. Dark shades on pale eyes with brown lashes will darken them and will look harsh. Stay away from blues and other colors since they will ruin your look.

Lashes that are hard to curl may need the help of an eyelash curler. Curl your lashes before you apply mascara – hold for ten to twenty seconds.

To apply mascara look straight into your mirror with your chin slightly lifted so you can see your lashes. Insert the wand only once and twist, don’t pump. Pumping can break the brush bristles and distribute the mascara unevenly and will dry out the mascara faster. Start by rolling the wand from root to tip in an upward motion. Reinsert the brush and apply again. If your eyelashes are thick and long they may clunk together. If this happens let them dry and then separate them with the corner of an eyebrow brush.

Choosing The Right Lipstick Colour

By स्कोटी किथ्लो

Just like everything else these days, fashion has also become complicated and it requires a lot of skill to keep pace with it. It may not be unusual for you to be socially stamped as a fashion guru or on the other hand a fashion freak if you are not careful.

The complexities of fashion are not just limited to the kind of dress that you adorn this summer or the kind of purse you carry or even the kind of footwear that you choose for yourself. The whole game has become too complex.

You need to be able to look at the emerging trends and decipher for yourself, what it is that you can choose. Choosing the wrong things will definitely not lead you anywhere. So even if a certain kind of dress is the craze this season, make sure that it suits your body shape before spending your precious dollars on it.

The one aspect of fashion that has gained prominence over the years is lipstick hues. Some seasons reds are in fashion while at other times it is the browns or the mauves. Sometimes the lustrous, wet look is in and at other times it is a matte, dry look that is in vogue.

It is essential that you match the color that you are proposing to buy with your skin tone. Many colors look extremely good when you go to buy them but the moment you try them on, they feel 'not so good after all'.

The fundamentals of lipstick color are similar to those for choosing dress color. There are some good colors that may not go well with a certain shade of skin. We all know that this can make a lot of difference and recognize the fact. What some people do not realize is that lipstick color is also similar and utmost care needs to be taken to choose one that suits you best.

If the shades in fashion do not suit you at all, it is better to go ahead and choose the color that suits you over an 'in vogue' color. If you look bad, no one will bother about the fact that you may be wearing the latest hue and style of lipstick anyways.

To ensure that you choose the right color for yourself, make use of the many samples that are on display these days to allow you to see for yourself. These test samples are a great way of knowing what you are getting into.

http://mineralhygienics.com It's something that a lot of my patients use and love, and I use it myself. It's also the product most patients ask about," says Kathryn Frew, MD, a dermatologist at Juva Skin and Laser Center and MediSpa in New York City. Many dermatologists report that because mineral makeup frequently eliminates classic "irritants" - like fragrances, binders, synthetic dyes, and preservatives -- it is considered "purer" and can be kinder to the skin. She adds that because titanium dioxide [and zinc oxide] have anti-inflammatory properties, certain mineral makeups can also have a calming effect on the skin, particularly important if you suffer from inflammatory problems such as rosacea or acne. Beauty Care Products For a Younger You

By अमृत क. अ

Again we hear about beauty care products that are ruling the cosmetic industry. Be it actors, glam queens or the girl next door; there are ideal products that suit different skin types. The latest fad however is an array of beauty and skin care products that promise to defy age. Skin creams, lotions and face masks that help conceal fine lines; making you look younger are becoming increasingly popular.

The market today is profuse with skin care products but choosing the one ideally suited for you can be a daunting task. There is a diverse range of anti aging beauty products and a few are described as follows:

Skin Creams: They mainly comprise creams that prevent the formation of wrinkles or fine lines which are termed as age lines. The main ingredients of these immensely popular anti wrinkle creams are GABA (gamma amino butyric acid), oxidants like vitamins C and E, pyenogenol and fruit extracts that come with a promise of rejuvenating the skin. A prior skin analysis is advisable to help you choose the one that is most suitable for you.

Lotions: Sun screen lotions which have SPF of more than 15 are likely to reduce signs of aging. Excessive exposure to suns rays causes damage to skin and therefore it is important to protect the skin before the damage is done. Skin care lotions with essential oils and compounds like Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Glycolic Acid, N-6 furfuryladenine (kinetin) and Vitamins like A, C and E are proven to have anti-aging effects.

Face Masks: There are several masks used for anti aging effects that are composed of similar ingredients that make up the age defying creams and lotions. In addition to the commercially available face masks, simple home-made ones prepared from natural ingredients are hugely popular and a better bet. Squashed pulp of banana, papaya, and pumpkin made into a paste with milk cream gives good results. Curd, gram flour and turmeric are ideal for most skin types.

In addition to this, beauty creams and lotions with natural sun protectors like Nano-Lipobelle H EQ10, shea butter, and Phytessence Wakame are very helpful. The primordial purpose of anti aging therapy is to keep the skin well moisturized and hydrated. Therefore oil massages do a world of good to dry and aging skin. Staying happy and stress free is another important aspect of staying young. Use appropriate age defying creams and follow simple beauty tips and let people constantly guess your age.

A Guide to Women's Beauty

By कथ्य अमरती

We are in the process of transition in our beliefs about women's beauty A change in the ideal face is becoming noticeable. Instead of the classic oval, the longer face is coming to the fore as the modern ideal. Interest is stimulated by its imperfection, thereby attracting attention to one feature more than another. As we have discarded the proportions of Venus' body, we are now discarding the proportions of the classic Greek face.

At the same time we are gaining new concepts of physical beauty, drawn from all the quarters of the globe. As distances in the world have shrunk and travel has become more common, we have been given the opportunity to see and appreciate the women of many racial strains that were formerly remote to us.

Women of other continents, though sometimes quite different from the women of the Western world, we now realize are lovely in their own way. This development, too, has helped to undermine our earlier ideal, replacing it with a variety of interesting facial contours more attractive to modern eyes than the outmoded classical oval.

PEOPLE OFTEN go on accepting ideas which have lost their validity. A case in point is that of the classic oval face. We have so long taken for granted that the ideal woman's face conforms to the classic oval that most people have not yet noticed that this is so no longer.

The classic oval is regular and symmetrical. The size of the features and their relation to one another accord with those in the statues of ancient Greece and Rome, or with the madonnas in Renaissance paintings. In a classic oval face, no one feature is more prominent or arresting than another. The effect is smooth, unvarying.

The exaltation of this ideal was a natural growth. In earlier days woman's life was restricted. A great beauty might be a ruler's mistress, a rich man's plaything. In the days when women were not expected to lead active lives outside the home, entertain ambitions, develop wide interests or develop their independent tendencies, their manners were likely to be quiet and self-effacing, their faces passive. Naturally the more their features conformed to the classic oval in symmetry and repose, the more beautiful they were considered to be.

With the emancipation of women, ideals of women's beauty were bound to change. As women developed individual characters and personalities, new kinds of beauty began to come into their own. The classic face of a goddess or a madonna was forced to share the spotlight with other types-pixies, gamins and women with stronger or less regular features which still managed to create an impression of charm or distinction.

With the advent of movies, television and picture magazines, too, we have all become acquainted with a great range of facial contours. We have seen that long, square, round or short faces may also be attractive. We realize that irregular proportions or odd features can be piquant, charming or even beautiful.

This fact should give aid and comfort to those women who have features which annoy them or which they consider defects. How often in my salon I hear women pointing out some feature which others may never notice unless attention is called to it! In one case, it may be large ears, in another, a prominent nose or a square jaw. Such women have in their minds the ideal of the classic oval and make themselves unhappy because they fall short of it.

If you are fretting about some real or fancied defect, my advice is to stop it. If you want to disguise it or play it down by optical illusion, there are ways of doing so, by using something else to overshadow the prominent feature. This might be the color of your hair or the styling of your hair. It could even be the color of your lipstick-anything which will arrest the eye and draw it away from the feature you want to minimize.

The very feature you dislike may be the one that gives you individuality. The world is full of variety and beauty can take many forms. Why shouldn't you be content to look like yourself and nobody else? Women's beauty can take many forms.
